"SUNSHINE" CAST WINS SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARD
Posted: 2007-01-29

"Little Miss Sunshine" has won the top prize at the Screen Actors Guild awards, giving the underdog film about a family of losers another big boost in the race for the Oscars. In a good omen for Little Miss Sunshine, which features Australian actress Toni Collette, three of the last four winners of the SAG award for best ensemble have gone on to win the Oscar for best picture. Last year, the award for best ensemble went to Crash, in a first sign that Brokeback Mountain did not have a lock on the Oscar, which Crash later won. Unfortunately, Toni didn't attend the SAG Awards, but her castmates Greg Kinnear, Steve Carrell, Alan Arkin and Abigail Breslin were present to accept the award.

Added production stills and screencaps from "About A Boy" and "The Night Listener" (please note that the caps might spoil you in case you haven't seen the film). Also new are screencaps of Toni's appearance at the 2007 Critics Choice Award. Cross your fingers for the "Little Miss Sunshine" cast tonight at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Also, the music video for Toni's second single, "Look Up" has been published and can be watched at Youtube and in the Media Vault.

DOWNTIME
Posted: 2007-01-23

I'm sure you've noticed that the site was down over the weekend - unfortunately this has happened because the monthly traffic limit has been reached - mostly because of all the hits after the Golden Globe Awards (which I don't complain about, many visitors are never a bad thing ;-) and downloads of the videos. As for now, it's all back, nothing got lost - and it shouldn't happen again since all media files will be stored at another place. Just so you know. The site however has been updated during its downtime, so scroll down to get all the latest news and stuff!

GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS: CONTINUING COVERAGE
Posted: 2007-01-17

I've added more red-carpet pictures as well screencaps from its live telecast. Also new to the gallery are images of Toni's January 14 appearance at the BAFTA Tea-Party.

Here's a small article on the night's Aussie hopefuls courtesy Sky News: The Golden Globe awards have sent Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Mel Gibson and George Miller home empty handed. The 64th annual awards held in Los Angeles is usually a preview of how next month's Academy Awards might play out. If that's the case, its not looking good for the Australian contingent. Last night Blanchett was upstaged by Jennifer Hudson, who took out best supporting actress for her role in Dreamgirls. Collette had two Globe chances, but Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep took one for The Devil wears Prada and Emily Blunt took the other for her performance in Gideon's Daughter.

TONI MIGHT TOUR IN AMERICA
Posted: 2007-01-17

According to the Daily Telegraph, Toni might be touring through America this coming February: The Australian actress jetted into Los Angeles this week to attend the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, and she'll also be searching for a record deal while she's in town. The actress-turned-singer has already enjoyed a little success in her native Australia, where she toured with her band "Toni Collette and the Finish", and she'll hit the road for a larger-scale tour in February. Toni released her debut album Beautiful Awkward Pictures through her own small, independent Aussie label, Hoola Hoop Records, last year. She tells Sydney's Daily Telegraph, "When I am in LA, I will be having conversations about furthering the American side of things." The 34-year-old said a US tour was also being planned. Collette's husband, Dave Galafassi, who is a member of Australian band Gelbison, also plays drums in her band.
